21:51 The game at Southampton ends in a 3-3 draw, with the home fans left stunned. The arrival of Gordon Strachan has brought three goals for the Saints - but they still fail to record their maiden win at their new stadium, thanks to Ipswich's impressive comeback. 21:35 The final whistle blows at Highbury, where Arsenal have qualified from the first round of the Champions League, along with Panathinaikos, who beat Schalke 2-0.

21:10 Southampton score their third goal of the Strachan era. Marian Parhars skips into the Ipswich area and crosses for Chris Marsden, who heads home.
21:04 Within two minutes Arsenal have doubled their lead and are well on course for round two. This time Dennis Bergkamp nets with a rare close-range header from Giovanni van Bronckhorst's right-wing cross.
21:02 After struggling for the first 60 minutes, Arsenal at last take control of their crucial Champions League match. Robert Pires scores after Fredrik Ljungberg's cross misses Thierry Henry and finds him unmarked at the far post.
21:02 Liverpool concede an equaliser in Portugal. Dangerman Elpidio Silva beats Jerzy Dudek at the near post with a header from a corner.
20:55 Robbie Fowler plays in fellow Liverpool frontman Emile Heskey, but his first-time shot is excellently saved by Boavista keeper Ricardo. 20:54 Arsenal survive a scare as Real Mallorca striker Campano fluffs his shot after being found unmarked 15 yards from goal. 20:46 The second half starts at Highbury, with Arsenal desperate for a goal.

19:58 West Ham are suddenly two goals up. Trevor Sinclair slips the ball to Frederic Kanoute, who scores with a low shot from the edge of the area.

The kick-off for Southampton's Premiership clash with Ipswich is put back to 20:00 BST, due to traffic congestion around the St Mary's stadium. Team news: Liverpool's squad for the trip to Boavista is named - and there is no place for Michael Owen. Reds fans had been hoping the England striker would have been passed fit for the game - but he has yet to recover from a hamstring injury, so Robbie Fowler partners Emile Heskey. Dennis Bergkamp starts up front for Arsenal against Real Mallorca in place of Sylvain Wiltord, who is named on the bench. Sol Campbell returns in the centre of defence for the Gunners as Matthew Upson steps down.
