Both Arsenal and Liverpool have sprung selection surprises.

The Gunners field an unchanged side from Saturday's win over Southampton. That means Matthew Upson plays in defence despite the availability of England international Martin Keown.

Emile Heskey plays as a lone striker for Liverpool, with Robbie Fowler and Jari Litmanen on the bench.
