Sutton doubt for Porto
Sutton (right) has been a key figure for Celtic in Europe
Chris Sutton is Celtic's main worry ahead of Wednesday's Uefa Champions League game against Porto in Portugal according to the club's official website.
The striker missed the 2-1 win over Motherwell at Fir Park suffering from tonsillitis and faces a battle to be ready for the European tie. Sutton, who has been in outstanding form since the start of the season, will be assessed again tomorrow by the Celtic medical team before a decision is made on whether he will be able to travel with the rest of the squad. Should Sutton fail to make the trip to Portugal, John Hartson could be in line to start his first Champions League match alongside Henrik Larsson, as Celtic look to clinch a place in the second stages of the competition. Hartson partnered the inspirational Swede during Celtic's late win over Motherwell at Fir Park. |
