Lokomotiv Moscow 3-1 Tirol Innsbruck
Shakhtar Donetsk 0-2 Borussia Dortmund

Lokomotiv Moscow and Borussia Dortmund both carry a two-goal cushion into the second legs of the Champions League third qualifying round.

Dortmund are in the stronger position, having scored twice without reply away from home in Ukraine.

But Lokomotiv also edged closer to the Champions League proper with a 2-0 win over Austrian side Tirol Innsbruck.

An almost sell-out crowd of 17,000 spectators in Russia soon had plenty to cheer about when South African midfielder Jacob Lekcetho gave Lokomotiv the lead after just two minutes.

He pounced from close range after the ball rebounded off Innsbruck goalkeeper Marc Ziegler.

Tirol struck back after 20 minutes when midfielder Roland Kirchler scored on the counterattack.

Lokomotiv were dominant in the first half and striker Marat Izmailov restored their advantage 11 minutes before the break.

Tirol had a chance to equalise again midway through the second half but Kirchler's powerful shot from just outside the box shaved the post.

Defender Sergei Ignashevich sealed victory for the home side with a 35-metre freekick which blasted into the right upper corner of the goal.

In Ukraine, Borussia 's Lars Ricken scored with a 34th minute header.

Sunday Oliseh double the lead after 74 minutes after a pass from Amoroso.

Shakhtar had put pressure on their opponents in the first half but were let down by poor finishing.

Dortmund goalkeeper Jens Lehmann was also called upon several times to protect the away team's advantage.
