Valencia go nap in Graz
Gaizka Mendieta
Mendieta had a hand in the first three goals
Sturm Graz 0-5 Valencia

Valencia advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a goal-scoring flourish in Austria.

Argentina's Roberto Ayala headed home a Gaizka Mendieta corner in the fifth minute to give Valencia the lead.

And things got worse for Graz 10 minutes before the break when sweeper Gilbert Prilasnig was sent off.

Prilasnig was dismissed after bringing down John Carew, who extended the Spanish side's advantage five minutes after the break.

Argentina's Kily Gonzalez, fed by Mendieta who had a hand in the first three goals, added the third in the 59th minute.

And another Argentinian, Diego Alonso, capped Sturm's fate with two late goals.
