Sudan sink Tanzania
The Sudanese team
Sudan surprised their East African opponents
Group 3: Tanzania 1-2 Sudan

Sudan came from behind in a close encounter in Dar es Salaam to take the three points and leave Tanzania in desperate trouble at the bottom of Group 3.

The Taifa Stars are without a point and are seeing Benin, Zambia and now Sudan pull away.

Having entirely overhauled his side by replacing young hopefuls with more older players, Tanzania coach Salum Madadi was hoping he could make experience count against the lively Sudan team.

And early on it seemed to work, as the Taifa Stars took an early lead thanks to Abdalla Rajab on 17 minutes.

But only 10 minutes later Sudan were back on level terms.

Jasten Lando struck home to quiten the 20,000 fans.

And they were silenced for good when Khalid Mussa popped up 10 minutes after half time to secure the points for Sudan.
