Group B Ivory Coast 1-0 Sudan FT

Burkina Faso 1-2 Angola FT

Peter Okwoche

2101: Over-all a very competitive game. That's it from us today, thanks for being with us. Remember we are doing it all over again tomorrow as Gabon take on Niger and Morocco face North Africa rivals Tunisia.

2100: Final whistle and Angola pick all three points in a game that ended scrappily.

2059: Macanga taken off for angola and is replaced by Vunguidica.

2057: Kone could be trouble here as he lashes out on Macanga in an off the ball incident. The referee doesn't see it but the cameras have.

2056: Burkina Faso still fighting though, they win a corner which is quickly taken but it comes to nought.

2055: Yellow card for Tall after a rash challenge.

2053: End of regulation time. Six minutes of extra time; not surprising after all the stops and starts.

2052: Angola wasting time. The players seem to be fall at every challenge.

2047: Angola beginning to defend really deep now.

2045: Great play from Burkina Faso, Dagano heads a cross at goal. It's straight at Fernandes but it's better play from Burkina Faso.

2044: Great bit of defending by Afonso as he throws his whole body in front of a shot by Koulibaly. Angola are trying to hold on to their lead.

2041: Manucho gets a bit of a whack on the head from Tall, as they both jump to head the ball. More stoppage as he gets treatment.

2038: A lot of stoppages in the game and it seems to be affecting the flow of the game.

2032: Kone was certainly at fault for the losing possesion of his ball to Manucho.

2031: Now that's a goal out of absolutely nothing! Manucho, who has been quiet up until now delivers a screamer from just outside the penalty box. Just when the Burkinabes though they had a firm foothold in this game.

2030: Goal: Burkina Faso 1-2 Angola.

2027: Angola try to regain the upper hand once more but a move down the right hand side is thwarted by Burkina Faso

2025: Burkina Faso seem rejuvenated now. There's an edge to the game now that was lacking before.

2024: Fernandes in the Angolan goal not happy with his players at all following that goal. Neither is his coach I dare say.

2021: Game on. Burkina Faso win a free-kick about 25-yards out. Up steps Traore to curl it past Angola's six-man wall. Brilliant free-kick. Brilliant goal.

2020: Goal: Burkina Faso 1-1 Angola

2019: Burkina Faso break again and try to force their way back into the game. The Angolan defence stands strong.

2018: More excitement now in front of the Burkinabe goal as the Palancas Negras sense the could get more gore goals.

2017: Back to that goal Tall's coach will be very unhappy with his antics in defence.

2015: That goal has brought the game to life but Angola in firm control.

2012: Comedy of errors in the Burkinabe defence as Tall tries to joggle the ball out of defence, he loses it it Mateus who cuts in from the right side of the penalty box and hits a one-time shot past Diakite.

2011: Goal: Burkina Faso 0-1 Angola

2009: Angola begin this half from where they left off in the first. Gilberto whips in a cross but Manucho's attempt to head it into goal looks half hearted.

2008: Flavio and Manucho set us off

2005: The players are making their way back to the pitch.

1950: Referee blows his whistle for half-time. It's not been a great game so far but it's not been bad either, with both teams creating some half chances.

1949: Half-Time

1947: Burkina Faso break quickly as Kabore sprints into the box, but there's no one to pass to and the Angolan defence ends his challenge.

1944: Two minutes of regulation time left and the Angolan coach will be pretty happy with his team's performance so far.

1940: De Sousa tries to jump out of the way but lands awkwardly on Koulibaly who goes out for some treatment. Both teams really going for it here.

1939: Flavio looks like he could be a big threat for Angola but he's not getting the right ball.

1936: Angola have played the better football but Burkina Faso are by no means out of it.

1934: A great free-kick from Gilberto straight down the middle, it just needs a touch from Flavio to go in but in the end a very comfortable catch for Diakite.

1931: A great chance at the other end too, as Koulibaly tries a shot from outside the box but it's well blocked.

1930: Pressure now from Angola as a Manucho cross confuses Diakita, he's lucky not to punished that time.

1927: Geraldo should have done better after a great run into the Burkinabe box, only to make a tame pass to the goalkeeper.

1924: Angola beginning to push forward now with Manucho and Djalma making the runs.

1922: Goalkeeper Carlos Fernandes makes a good catch from a in-swinging corner. He's always smiling, the Angolan 'keeper.

1919: Flavio swings it a textbook free-kick only for Manucho to fluff his lines. (And yes it's the same Manucho who was on the books of Manchester United a few years ago).

1916: Dagano hits it with power but it's deflected for a corner which is wasted.

1915: Free-kick to Burkina Fasojust outside the penalty box as Pitroipa is brought down.

1914: Nice, crisp passing by Burkina Faso, but they can't get through the Angolan defence.

1912: Almost ten minutes gone and it's honours even so far.

1911: Angola try to break from defence but quickly snuffed out by the Burkinabes.

1909: Yellow card to Koffi after a challenge on Djalma.

1906: Cagey start from both sides. Traore swings in a free-kick from the right side but well blocked by the Angolan defence.

1904: Atmosphere in the stadium much livelier than during the first game. Many Angolan fans in there.

1902: Burkina Faso Get us underway hoping the can score their first goal at the finals since 2004.

1858: Both teams out on the pitch now and the national anthems being played.

1847: Angola team list: 13- Fernandes (GK), 02-De Sousa, 04-Afonso, 07-Djalma, 08-Macanga, 09-Manucho, 10-Santos, 11-Gilberto, 15-Geraldo, 16-Flavio, 17-Mateus.

1841: Burkina Faso team list: 01-Diakite, 03-Kone, 04-Tall, 05-Koffi, 06-Kone, 07-Rouamba, 09-Dagano (captain), 10- Traore, 11-Pitroipa, 17, Koulibaly, 18-Kabore.

1803: Just under an hour to go before our next game Burkina Faso against Angola.

1800: Sudan should be happy with their defensive performance.

1758: That's it then, Ivory Coast win by a lone goal but a far from convincing display.

1750: We are at the end of the 90 minutes now and the referee has indicated three additional minutes.

1745: Ivory Coast not looking like they know how to break down the stubborn Sudanese defence.

1742: Sudan's players are not giving Ivory Coast any time on the ball at all. Yaya Toure is forced to take a long range shot, that goes so far wide that the ball might end up in the Atlantic Ocean.

1739: Substitution for Ivory Coast as Cheik Tiote makes way for Keita.

1734: Gervinho misses another chance. That's the third time in this game. The Elephants have been wasteful in this game and the Arsenal winger is the main culprit.

1733: Ivory Coast looking in no hurry to put this match to bed. Sudan are growing in confidence.

1727: Drogba hits a first time shot with power following a great pass from Yaya Toure, but it goes well wide.

1722: Ahmed begining to cause Ivory Coast a few problems now and capitalises on an error by Kalou but his shot is quite soft.

1718: Good play by Ivory Coast. Gervinho hits the ball low and on target, but Mahgoub in the Sudanese goal catches it at the second time of asking. Much better from the Elephants.

1715:From Faisal in Cardiff, Wales via text: A great display from the African underdogs Sudan against this star studded team. Hopefully they can go on the offensive this 2nd half and get some goals.

1714: Brilliant run on goal from Kalou but Saif Eldin catches the ball with his toe to put it into touch.

1711: Eldin forces a save from Boubacarr with a low shot across goal, that's better from Sudan at the moment.

1710: Surging run from Sudan but played out for a corner by Yaya Toure.

1708: Sudan trying to be a bit more attack minded now.

1705: Ivory Coast get us underway.

1704: The teams are out now, second half about to get underway.

1654: A quick reminder that if you want to talk about the Cup of Nations, join fans around the world on Sports World Have Your Say on BBC World TV at 1900 GMT. Post on their Facebook page with your views on the tournament so far or tweet @BBCSportsWHYS .

1653: It's not been breathtaking from the stadium in Malabo but Ivory Coast have been the better team and deserve their lead.

1645: Sudan end the half strongly but it's Ivory Coast who go into the interval with a goal.

1649: Half-Time

1646: That was actually Boubacarr, who tipped it off to the crossbar, brilliant save.

1645: Wow! The bar comes to the rescue for Ivory Coast as Moutata's shot hits the bar. It should have been 1-1

1642: Just when you thought we might be heading for half-time goalless, Drogba rises to head in a beautiful cross from Chelsea teammate Kalou. It might have taken a slight deflection from a Sudanese defender but Drogba won't mind that.

1641: GOAL Ivory Coast 1-0 Sudan

1631: Drogba goes down under a challenge but his team-mates play on, only for Gervinho to head wide of goal. But Drogba is up and he seems fine.

1630: Sudan will be the happier of both sides at the moment, they've not allowed their opponents any opportunities. Hard to believe there are 102 places between both sides on the FIFA rankings.

1629: Kalou tries another pass to Yaya Toure, but it's too long.

1627: The Elephants' midfield is finding it quite difficult to get quality balls to the strikers.

1625: A wide wasteful shot from Gosso after some brilliant work from Drogba, still 0-0.

1624: Kolo Toure tries a brilliant long range pass to Drogba from just inside his half, but once again the Sudanese defence cut it out.

1623: Well that answers my question, Drogba whips a shot just past the left post.

1622: Ivory Coast beginning to string some good passes together, but can they get the ball forward?

1619: Yaya Toure, tries a cross inside the penalty area but is well blocked by the defender. Great work defensively from Sudan - so far.

1618: First yellow card of the game goes to Sudan's Abdalla for a rash challenge. Drogba's free-kick from 25 yards doesn't even beat the first defender.

1617: Sudan seems to be happy to let Ivory Coast have the ball while they sit behind it.

1616: Drogba caught off-side, should have waited a bit before making his run.

1615: Gervinho creates a shooting opportunity for himself but his shot is too high.

1613: Ivory Coast finding it hard to stamp their authority on the game, might be a a far more difficult than they expected.

1610: Sudan trying to contain The Elephants in the opening stages but not much happening at the moment.

1608: First corner to The Elephants but wasted.

1605: Nice Passing from Sudan ending with a tame cross from the left but easy catch from Boubacarr in the Ivorian goal.

1604: Both teams trying to get their rhythm.

1600: Here we go Sudan get us under way.

1557: And here they come, The Elephants playing in their orange kit, while Sudan are in all white

1555: Both teams now in the tunnel about to walk on to the pitch. Drogba looking relaxed.

1552: Kwaku from Chicago believes his prediction that either Ivory Coast or Senegal won't make the semis is brighter.

1548: So the Elephants are starting with a pretty strong line up; leaving nothing to chance.

1546: Sudan team list: 16-Mahgoub (GK), 03-Bashir 04-Abdalla,, 05-Yousif, 08-Mostfa (captain), 09-Ali Idris, 13-Kamal, 14-Gabir, 17-Etaib,19-Ahmed, 23-Ishaq

1536: Ivory Coast team list: 01-Boubacarr (GK), 04-Toure, 06-Gosso, 08-Kalou, 09-Tiote, 10-Yao, 11-Drogba (captain), 17-Tiene, 19-Toure, 20-Lolo, 11-Bamba

1523: Don't forget you van also send us your views via text, the number is at the top of the page.

1518: Just spoken to the BBC's Nick Cavell at the stadium in Malabo and the noise is un-believable.

1509: So can we expect more upsets in today's first game between Ivory Coast and Sudan or will The Elephants live up to their pre-tournament billing? The Nile Crocodiles will be hoping to win their first Nations Cup match outside Sudan since 1963 when they beat Nigeria 4-0 in Ghana.

1506: Pre-tournament favourites Ivory Coast take on Sudan while it's Burkina Faso versus Angola.

1500 GMT: Hello and welcome to day two of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. After big results last night for co-hosts Equatorial Guinea and Zambia, today's action switches to Malabo with kick off in about an hour's time.
