Benin international striker Razak Omotoyossi has joined Swedish top side GAIS on a four-month deal.

The 25-year-old has been without a club since his contract with French club FC Metz was terminated eight months ago.

Omotoyossi has signed for GAIS until the end of the season.

He returns to Sweden almost three years after he left Helsingborg, for whom he scored 27 goals in 49 matches.

"It's a fresh start and I am happy to be here," Omotoyossi told BBC Sport on Wednesday.

"There are several things that happened in the past and I'll rather leave them in the past.

"I know this league and country pretty well, and this club left a positive impression since I got here.

"I just want to play here, focus on helping the club by doing my best to compliment that of my new teammates."

Nigeria-born Omotoyossi has been without a club for much of last year after his contract with Metz was ended by a French league tribunal.

The much travelled Omotoyossi has also played for clubs in Moldova, Sweden and Saudi Arabia.
