Morocco striker Mbark Boussoufa has joined Russian top flight side Anzhi Makhachkala from Belgian giants Anderlecht.

The 26-year-old signed a three-year contract worth $15m with the Dagestan-based side.

The move ends Boussoufa's five-year stay with Anderlecht.

"Mbark Boussoufa and Anderlecht reached an agreement with Anzji Makhachkala today," Anderlecht said in a statement.

"The player will play for the club from the capital of the Russian Republic of Dagestan for the next three seasons.

"He will leave for Dagestan immediately."

Boussoufa joined Anderlecht in 2006 from rivals Ghent in July 2006.

The Morocco international played nearly 200 matches for Anderlecht and scored 60 goals for the Belgian giants.

Anzhi Makhachkala have been boosted by billionaire businessman Suleyman Kerimov's takeover of the club two months ago.

They are seeking to boost their squad ahead of the start of Russian league season on Saturday.
