Nigeria's Eagles angry over cancelled U.S. tournament

Coach Siasia wants to strengthen his Super Eagles squad.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it will make a formal complaint to Fifa after the postponement of a football tournament in the USA.

The Super Eagles had arrived in Dallas, Texas only to be told the tournament had been put off for another two weeks.

The Nigeria team is now on its way back to Nigeria without playing a single game.

Coach Samson Siasia had planned to use the tourney to pick home-based players who could make the national team.

Organisers blamed the postponement on the tournament's ticketing system.

Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica were the other invited teams.

Nigeria host Ethiopia in a crucial 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the end of March.

The Eagles are second in their qualifying group, three points behind Guinea.
