Nigerian Chinedu Obasi will be out for three months

Hoffenhein striker Chjinedu Obasi
Obasi has played only four times since the World Cup in South Africa

Nigerian international Chinedu Obasi has suffered another injury blow, which will keep him out of action for three more months.

The striker, who plays for Hoffenheim in Germany, had only just returned to action after several months out.

He suffered a stress fracture to his left shin during the World Cup in South Africa and it is that injury which needs surgery.

He has made just four Bundesliga appearances during his comeback.

He will have an operation next week.
