Rajevac hopes to take his strongest possible team to the World Cup in June

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac says he has resolved his differences with Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari.

Rajevac sensationally dropped Muntari from the Ghana squad that finished as runners up at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

The Serbian failed to speak to Muntari ahead of the tournament, despite spending two days in Milan.

"He called me later and apologised for the misunderstanding and it's now sorted" said Rajevac.

Rajevac says he went to Milan, Italy ahead of the Nations Cup to speak to Muntari but that his phone calls were ignored.

"I spent two days in Milan, I called, sent him messages, he was informed I was there but for two days he [did] not respond," said the 56 year old Serb.

"After that I thought he didn't [want] to play so I dropped him."

"I spoke to the other players who missed the Angola game and asked them if they wanted to play in the Nations Cup because I wanted players who really wanted to be there and they said yes.

"That was all I wanted to do with Muntari."

Rajevac said he would also consider many of the players who missed the Nations Cup for the World Cup in June.

"For the World Cup you need players with experience," he told newsmen.

"Players like John Mensah, John Paintsil, Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari. They will be important players for the World Cup but it depends on them," Rajevac continued.

"It depends on how much they want to play, because I want players who are willing to give their best for Ghana."

Despite clearing the way for a return, Rajevac says the key players will have a fight on their hands for places before the World Cup.

"All the players who got the chance in Angola used it very well so there will be a lot of competition."
