Senegal get new coach

Senegal coach Amara Traore
Amara Traore is the new coach of Senegal

The Senegal Football Federation (FSF) has appointed Amara Traore as the new coach of the Teranga Lions.

The 44-year-old former player has coached first division ASC Linguere de St-Louis since 2007, leading them to the title this season.

Senegal have been without a coach since October 2008 after Lamine Ndiaye was sacked for failing to reach the final round of 2010 World Cup qualifying.

His immediate task is to help Senegal to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations and the Olympic Games.
