Guinea's Bobo Balde has joined French side Valenciennes

Guinea's Bobo Balde has joined French club Valenciennes until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old has been without a club since his contract with Scottish club Celtic finished at the end of last season.

He has already spent several days training with the club before the start of the new campaign.

Balde said on the club's Web site: "I was very happy with this news and I signed at midday."

The defender, who left France eight years ago following spells with Marseille, Mulhouse, Cannes and Toulouse, has won four Scottish titles and played in the 2003 UEFA Cup final with Celtic.

Valenciennes are currently 10th in the French league standings, with 13 points from nine games.
