Germany's Semih Aydilek and Cameroon's Ghislain Mvom vie for the ball
Cameroon are out of the U20 World Cup after finishing last in their group

Cameroon's Under-20 World Cup came to an end on Friday night thanks to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Germany in Ismailia, coupled with South Korea's 3-0 win over the USA up the road in Suez.

Goals from Richard Sukuta-Pasa, Semih Aydilek and Lewis Maltby took Germany through as group winners, while South Korea's win takes them through in second place.

Cameroon finish bottom on goal difference from the USA.

The Young Lions started with intent - Olivier Boumale forced a smart save from the German keeper in the fourth minute of the game.

But the group leaders gradually took control - having a goal ruled out after 15 minutes and several other chances.

Cameroon finally went behind with just four minutes remaining of the first half.

A swinging free-kick from the right was met by Richard Sukuta-Pasa at the far post and he headed home to put Germany 1-0 up.

Just before the break Cameroon were reduced to 10 men when Patrick Ekeng received his second yellow card.

In the second half Germany again pressed forward, and Beyokol pulled off a brilliant triple save to deny them in the 53rd minute.

But he could do nothing when a chip over the defence found Manuel Schaeffler who laid it off for Semih Aydilek to make it 2-0 for Germany.

The Cameroon collapse was complete when Ghislain Mvom played the attacking Germans onside - they had three against one and it was Lewis Maltby who finished for Germany's third goal.

With 15 minutes to go it was 10-a-side as Aydilek was sent off for his second yellow card, but the damage had been done for the Young Lions.

The defeat left them level on points with the USA, but the Americans had a slightly better goal difference and must wait to see if they go through as one of the better finishing third-placed teams.

For Cameroon the tournament is over.
