Song left out of Cameroon team

Rigobert Song in action for Cameroon
Rigobert Song has been a fixture in the Cameroon side for a decade

Cameroon's most-capped player, Rigobert Song, has been left out of the starting line-up for the first time in 10 years.

Song has played for the Indomitable Lions for the past decade and has most recently been team captain.

In that time he has helped them to win two Nations Cups - they also reached the final last year.

But he will not be on the pitch when Cameroon kick-off their friendly against Austria on Wednesday evening.

Instead, the Inter striker Samuel Eto'o will wear the captain's armband and Song will be on the bench.

Coach Paul Le Guen is taking charge of the team for the first time.

Elsewhere today, Ghana's Black Stars will be missing several key players for their friendly against Zambia in London.

John Mensah and Asamoah Gyan are amongst those unavailable because they did not receive a visa in time.

Matthew Amoah is in London but will not play because of injury.

Zambia arrived in the UK capital only on Wednesday morning.

And in South Africa, the 2010 World Cup hosts will be taking on Serbia - coach Joel Santana is back in-charge after recovering from illness.
