New Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen has had his preparations for his first match in charge disrupted by the failure of a key player to join the squad.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto has not joined the squad for Wednesday's game against Austria.
The Cameroon Football Federation Fecafoot said there had been no explanation for his absence.
Assou-Ekotto is with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League.
Elsewhere, South Africa coach Joel Santana will lead Bafana Bafana in their friendly match with Serbia on Wednesday.
The Brazilian boss had been ill with pneumonia but has now been given the all-clear by his doctors.
South Africa play Serbia in Super Stadium in Atteridgeville in their latest preparation for the 2010 World Cup.
There are a host of other international friendly matches involving African teams taking place this week.
Amongst the matches scheduled to be played is a clash between Ghana and Zambia in London, Ivory Coast away to Tunisia and Egypt at home to Guinea.
