Gervinho on the move in France

The Ivory Coast's Gervinho
The Ivory Coast's Gervinho has joined French club Lille for Le Mans

Ivory Coast midfielder Gervinho has moved from Le Mans to their French rivals Lille.

The 22-year-old is said to have cost Lille about US$8.5 million.

He spent two years at Le Mans, scoring nine goals in 59 appearances.

Lille said Gervinho, whose full name is Gervais Yao Kouassi, had accepted a three-year contract.

The move by Lille manager Rudi Garcia helps fill the gap left by the sale earlier this month of Brazilian playmaker Michel Bastos to Lyon.
