African goals in Europe: 15-16 Feb

Herita Ilunga scored his third goal in the FA Cup this season West Ham
It was the fifth round of the FA Cup in England and three Africans earned their sides replays with goals that proved to be equalisers.

DR Congo defender Herita Ilunga grabbed his third goal in the competition, when he scored in the 83rd minute for West Ham as they drew with Middlesbrough 1-1.

Guinea's Kamil Zayatte headed Hull City into a replay with Sheffield United as they also drew 1-1.

Coventry City were denied a quarter-final place by Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba. The Congo-Brazzaville player equalised in injury time to rescue a 2-2 draw.

Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o scored two goals for the third game in a row as he helped Barcelona come from behind to draw 2-2 with Real Betis.

Eto'o scored twice for his club last week against Sporting Gijon and two more for Cameroon on Wednesday as they beat Guinea 3-1.

The Cameroonian is still the top scorer in La Liga with 23 goals - five more than Valencia's David Villa. But Barcelona's lead was cut to 10 points as Real Madrid thrashed Sporting Gijon 4-0.

Mixed fortunes this week for Nigeria striker Kalu Uche as he scored for Almeria but was then shown a straight red card as his side came from two goals down to beat Valladolid 3-2.

Uche's goal made it 2-2, with Almeria already reduced to 10 men, and his sending off eight minutes later left his side with nine men - who still managed to find a winner.

Frederic Kanoute followed up his goal for Mali in midweek with two more goals for third-placed Sevilla as they beat bottom side Espanyol 2-0.

Lyon's 3-1 win over Le Havre was overshadowed by the racist abuse of Ghana's John Mensah, who was later sent off in the game. The Ivory Coast's Abdel Kader Keita scored for league leaders Lyon.

Kamel Chafni sealed victory for Auxerre in the 2-0 win over Lille. It was the first goal in the league for the Moroccan midfielder.

Fellow Moroccan Marouane Chamakh headed home a rebound from close range to put Bordeaux ahead on the hour mark but his side drew 1-1 with Grenoble.

Yet another Moroccan Youssouf Hadji put Nancy ahead at Rennes but the game ended 1-1.

Algeria's Rafik Saifi came on as a substitute to equalise for Lorient just after the interval in their 1-1 draw at Caen.

Nice came from behind to beat Le Mans 2-1 thanks to an African duo. The Ivory Coast's Emerse Fae first equalised before the Malian Mahamane Traore scored the winner in the last minute. Both sides played the last 12 minutes with ten men.

Nigeria defender Rabiu Afolabi gave Sochaux a 12th minute lead, but the visiting side Toulouse walked away with the points after winning 2-1.

The Ivory Coast striker Bakari Kone came on as a late substitute to score a 77th minute winner for Marseille as they beat Monaco 1-0.

There was more Moroccan success in Holland as midfielder Nourdin Boukhari scored the only goal of the game to give his side NAC Breda a 1-0 triumph over Roda JC.

His compatriot Youssef Akchaoui was on target Nijmegen - he equalised in the first half in his side's 1-1 home draw with Heerenveen.

Guinean midfielder Aboubacar Mbaye Camara scored a last-gasp winner for Lokeren, who came from behind to beat the bottom side Roulers 2-1.

Senegalese striker Mbaye Leye scored the equaliser for Gent in the 58th minute as they drew 3-3 with Mechelen.

Another Senegalese player Elimane Coulibaly gave Kortrijk a late lead with just four minutes left on the clock, but the game with relegation threatened Mons ended 1-1.
