As Aviacao are looking to get back to winning ways under Brazilian Peres
Angola's AS Aviacao have appointed former Brazilian World Cup captain Marinho Peres as their new coach.
The 60-year-old former Barcelona defender, who led Brazil at the 1974 World Cup finals in West Germany, signed a contract for the next two seasons with the club.
He replaces Portuguese coach Manuel Fernandes, who quit in November to take over at Uniao Leiria in his native country.
Peres has previously coached Portuguese sides Sporting Lisbon, Belenenses, Maritimo and Vitoria Guimaraes, as well his former club Santos in Brazil.
He takes charge of the Angolan side after they finished a disappointing seventh last season, a long way off their three-in-a-row title-winning run between 2002 to 2004.
