Assou-Ekotto has only recently become a regular in Tottenham's first team
Tottenham Hotspur defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto has revealed he wants to leave Spurs and return to France.
The French-born Cameroon international has been a regular for Spurs recently, but is keen to join Paris St Germain.
The 24-year-old spent three years at Lens, having joined the club as a 10-year-old, before moving to Spurs in 2006 for a fee of around £3.5m.
"I'd love a return to France," Assou-Ekotto told radio sation RMC. "Above all I would love to join PSG."
Assou-Ekotto was tipped as one of the biggest prospects in Cameroonian football, but he was sidelined for more than a year after suffering a serious knee injury in December 2006.
Meanwhile, PSG striker Mohammed Taidara has hinted he may go in the opposite direction.
The 18-year-old, who was born in France to Senegalese parents, said several English and Spanish clubs are making enquiries about him.
