Manucho called into Angola squad

Angola and Manchester United's Manucho

Manchester United striker Manucho has been called up to Angola's squad to play Niger in a 2010 World Cup qualifier.

If he plays it will be his first appearance of the World Cup qualifiers.

After his impressive performances at the 2008 Nations Cup in Ghana he then missed the opening five qualifying matches through injury.

Angola, who reached the 2006 World Cup finals, were rocked on Sunday as coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves quit his post.

A win for the Palancas Negras in the Group Three match on Sunday will almost certainly guarantee them second place in the table.

A runners-up spot would give them a chance of progressing to the next round of qualifying as one of the eight best second-places sides.

Squad:

Lama, Yamba Acha, Santana, Job, Jamuana (all Petro Luanda), Loco, Love (both Primeiro Agosto), Amaro, Vado (both Benfica de Luanda), Capoco, Machado (Recreativo do Libolo); Jamba (AS Aviacao), Minguito (InterClube); Paz (Santos FC), Mateus, Marco Airosa (Nacional, Portugal), Gilberto, Flavio (Al Ahly, Egypt), Kaly (Sion, Switzerland), Dede (Pacos de Ferreira, Portugal), Andre Makanga (Kuwait SC, Kuwait), Ze Kalanga (Dinamo Bucharest, Romania), Manucho (Manchester United, England)
