Ghana blow as Gyan is ruled out

Asamoah Gyan
The striker has been ruled out of Ghana's next qualifier

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is to miss the Black Stars' crunch 2010 World and Nations Cup qualifying match against Libya.

His club, Stade Rennes, have confirmed that the player will be out of action for six weeks.

He suffered a torn muscle during Rennes' match against Lille last Sunday.

The striker was to have been a key part of new Ghana coach Milavan Rajevec's squad.

Rajevac is due to name his full line-up on Friday.

The game against Libya is potentially decisive.

The Black Stars travel to Tripoli tied at the top of their group with Libya on nine points, with two games remaining.
