Anderson of Brazil and Cameroon's Albert Baning tussle for the ball
Cameroon were beaten 2-0 by Brazil after extra time in their Olympic Games men's football quarter-final in Shenyang on Saturday.
Striker Albert Baning was sent off in the 52nd minute for a second bookable offence, but Brazil only took the lead after 101 minutes.
Rafael Sobis put Brazil ahead with a shot over goalkeeper Amour Tignyemb after picking up a well-played through ball that caught out the Cameroon defence.
Marcelo sealed the victory four minutes later with a shot from near the penalty spot.
In a very physical and scrappy match, a total of 12 yellow cards were awarded, five to Brazil and seven to Cameroon.
With Ronaldinho in their side, Brazil controlled the pace of the match, but were frustrated by Cameroon's tight defence.
Cameroon's best chance came in extra time, on the break in the 95th minute, but Bebbe's shot from outside the area went over the bar with goalkeeper Renan off the line.
While Brazil were at full strength, Cameroon coach Martin Ndtoungou was without midfielder Georges Mandjeck and defender Paul Bebey, who were both suspended.
The Indomitable Cubs also lost Stephane Mbia, who was injured and substituted in the 17th minute.
"Our boys played well," said Ndtoungou.
"We had one player injured and one red-carded, but we still took Brazil
to extra time. That's not so bad."
Baning had also been red-carded in Cameroon's opening game of the tournament, against South Korea, so was sent off in both of his appearances at the Olympics.
Brazil have never won Olympic gold medal in football, and reached the semi-finals for the first time since the 1996 Games.
The two teams met at the same stage in the 2000 Sydney Games, when Cameroon eliminated Brazil in extra time and went on to win gold.
