Kenya claimed an important win over Zimbabwe on Saturday to give themselves a great chance of making it to the second stage of 2010 World Cup qualifying.
The Harambee Stars beat the visiting Warriors by two goals to nil, with McDonald Mariga and Dennis Oliech netting for Kenya.
The first came after just 13 minutes, the second with only five minutes to go.
The result puts Kenya at the top of Group 2 in this round of World and Nations Cup qualifying, with six points from three games.
In the other game in the group, 2008 Nations Cup quarter-finallists Guinea got their first win of the campaign.
They beat Namibia in Windhoek by two goals to one thanks to goals from Ismael Bangoura and Pascal Feindouno.
But they still lie third in the group behind Zimbabwe on goal difference.
