Joel Santana has arrived to start work with South Africa
The new coach of 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa, Joel Santana, has arrived in the country.
The 59-year-old Brazilian did not talk to the press on his arrival on Sunday.
Santana will watch a local match on Sunday according to Raymond Hack, the chief executive of the South Africa Football Association (Safa).
"He has expressed the interest to start straight away, by getting a look and feel of the place and the culture and the teams," Hack said.
Santana will be introduced to the media at a news conference Monday and then two days later he will announce his first squad for the 2010 World Cup qualifier Nigeria on 1 June.
Santana replaced Carlos Alberto Parreira, who resigned last month to be with his ill wife and family.
