Former Brazil international Carlos Mozer has been fired as coach of Angolan champions InterClube.

His sacking comes less than six months after leading the club to their first title.

Mozer's dismissal follows the police team's 3-0 loss to Zamalek of Egypt in their Champions League third-round first-leg match on Saturday.

InterClube have also made a poor start to the defence of their domestic title.

Mozer, who worked as an assistant to Jose Mourinho when he was in charge at Benfica, took over the Angolan side at the start of last season.

The 48-year-old played for Brazil at the 1990 World Cup finals in Italy.

He had spells at Benfica in Portugal and France's Olympique Marseille in his career as a central defender.
