Young Africans celebrate title win after Sunday's win

Young Africans won the Tanzania league title on Sunday, dethroning arch-rivals Simba Sports Club.

The new champions forced a two-all draw with Prisons to take an unassailable lead of 50 points at the top of the 14-team championships.

The title win means they have booked their place in next year's Champions League.

Simba, with 37 points are now aiming for the runner-up position, which is also being contested by Prisons who have 41 points.

Simba, however, have two matches in hand, while Prisons have one match to play.

The second slot will enable Simba to feature in the Confederation Cup in 2009.

Young Africans and Simba, which are being trained by Serbian coaches, were defeated in the preliminary rounds in 2008 continental assignments.
