Ouaddou pair banned from club

Abdeslam Ouaddou
The Moroccan star was booked after reacting to the abuse

Two fans who abused Valenciennes' Moroccan captain Abdeslam Ouaddou have been banned from their club for three months.

The pair, who support the French club Metz, were found guilty of making "extremist gestures" of a racist nature.

The incident happened when the two clubs met in the French League earlier this year.

Ouaddou was booked after remonstrating with a spectator during the game.

The referee subsequently said he had been unaware of the abuse and would have stopped the game had he heard it.

Valenciennes had called for the game to be replayed.
