Frenchman Noel Tosi has been replaced by Gaston Tchangana
Frenchman Noel Tosi has been dismissed as the coach of Congo by the country's football federation.
The decision follows Congo's 0-0 draw in their last African Nations Cup qualifier at home to Zambia last month.
The result left the country two points behind Group 11 leaders South Africa despite a bright start to their qualifying campaign.
FECOFOOT secretary general Youlou Bakith said Tosi had given an unauthorised interview over his salary conditions.
Tosi was also accused of spending too much time in his native France and refusing to collaborate with Congo members of the national team's technical staff.
But observers say the sacking may have more to do with an altercation with Congo sports minister Marcel Mbani.
Mbani who sought to enter the team's dressing room at half time of the Nations Cup match against Zambia to admonish players.
Tosi, 47, was appointed coach last July on a two-year contract.
He has been replaced by his predecessor Gaston Tchangana.
