Barca striker Samuel Eto'o urged his brother to move to Ukraine

David Eto'o, the younger brother of Cameroon striker Samuel, has joined Ukrainian side Metallurg Donetsk.

David sealed a one-year deal from Spanish club Mallorca.

The 19-year-old had been at Mallorca for four years but struggled for playing time.

After consulting with his brother he opted to take up a move to Ukraine.

Metallurg club president Dmytro Selyuk said David will start his Metallurg career in the reserves.

But he backed the youngster to progress quickly and earn himself a long term deal.

"David has everything that is needed to grow in to a top-level player," he said.

The 19-year-old joined Mallorca in 2003 and spent last season on loan to Swiss club Yverdon.
