Ghana's Black Princesses beat hosts Algeria 2-1 at the Zerealda Stadium in the opening Group B match of the 9th All Africa Games.

The West Africans, who are making their debut at the competition, are being represented by their U-19 women's side.

In Group A, African Champions Nigeria came back from a two goal deficit to draw 2-2 with South Africa at the Bologhine stadium.

The Super Falcons levelled through Ifeanyi Chiejine and Tawa Ishola.

The next round matches are scheduled for 12 July.
