Bangoura rues ruling on Camara
By Mohamed Fajah Barrie

Former Guinea captain Titi Camara
Titi Camara has been ruled out of being the next Guinea FA boss

Former Guinea international Abdoul Karim Bangoura is disappointed that Aboubacar Titi Camara is not able to contest the Guinea Football Association (FGF) presidential elections.

"I'm disappointed that Titi is being disqualified and I don't think it's a good thing for Guinea football," Bangoura told BBC Sport.

"Guinean fans would like Titi to become the new Guinea FA boss because they know that he's the best man for that position for now."

Camara was ruled out of the race by the FGF on the grounds that he has not been in club management for at least four years, as stipulated in their constitution.

The former Syli Nationale captain played for clubs in France, Saudi Arabia as well as English sides Liverpool and West Ham.

He retired from international football after Guinea went out in the quarter-finals of the 2004 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia.

Camara's disqualification means that current FGF President Aboubacar Bruno Bangoura looks set to be re-elected unopposed during the elections on 15 July.

The only other potential candidate was former FGF secretary general Aly Altafini Bangoura, who was ruled out as he is serving an indefinite suspenion from the football association.

He was suspended after being found gulity of illegally issuing an International Transfer Certificate for a Guinean player, Yali Yali, to join a a Moroccan club during his time as FGF secretary general.
