Drogba finished third in the BBC African Footballer of the Year

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been overwhelmingly voted the Ivorian player of the year for 2006.
The poll involved twenty media organisations including 17 newspapers, radio and national television.
Drogba received 194 points to take the award ahead of Lille striker Kader Keita (68), followed by Lens striker Aruna Dindane (66), Tottenham's Didier Zokora (48) and Arsenal's Kolo Toure (46).
The other nominees were Yaya Toure of Monaco, Arouna Kone of PSV Eindhoven, Abdoulaye Meite of Bolton, Emmanuel Eboue of Arsenal and two local players, Didier Ya Konan of ASEC Mimosas and Bakary Soro ASEC Mimosas.
This comes just a day after the 28-year-old finished third in the 2006 BBC African Footballer of the Year won by his team-mate Michael Essien.
