Egypt call Mido despite injury
Ahmed Mido
Mido has been included in a 20-man squad

Egypt are hoping Tottenham Hotspur striker Ahmed Mido recovers in time from a knee injury to play against South Africa in London on Wednesday.

The forward, who did not play against Reading in the English premier league on Sunday, has been named in a 20-man squad for the match at Griffin Park.

Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has called up uncapped striker Ahmed Hassan to a 20-man squad.

Hassan, not to be confused with the team's captain, who plays at Anderlecht, is the top goal scorer in the Egyptian premier league.

The squad includes five players from Ahly, who won the African Champions League on Saturday.

Squad

Goalkeepers: Mohamed Abou Moncef (Zamalek), Essam Al Hadari (Ahly)

Defenders: Rami Adel (Arab Contractors), Abdulzaher El Saqqa (Konyaspor, Turkey), Mahmoud Fathallah (Ghazl Al Mahalla), Ahmed Fathi (Ismaili), Wael Gomaa (Ahly), Amir Azmi Megahed (PAOK Salonika, Greece), Sayed Moawad (Ismaili), Ibrahim Said (Zamalek)

Midfielders: Hosni Abd Rabou (Ismaili), Mohamed Aboutrika (Ahly), Hossam Ghali (Tottenham Hotspur), Ahmed Hassan (Anderlecht), Mohamed Shawki (Ahly)

Forwards: Gamal Hamza (Zamalek), Ahmed Hassan (Ghazl Al Mahalla), Mido (Tottenham Hotspur), Emad Moteab (Ahly), Amr Zaki (Zamalek).
