As always, we are giving you the unique chance to help select the most outstanding player of the past 12 months.
The competition is open to all African footballers around the world and your votes will help choose a shortlist of five by 30 November 2006.
The shortlisted players will then go into a second round of voting during the month of December before the 2006 BBC African Footballer of the Year is revealed in January.
