Olympique Lyon boss Gerard Houllier has warned Spanish giants Real Madrid that Mali midfielder Mahamadou Diarra is not for sale.
"It's out of the question for him to leave and he has known my thoughts on the matter for the past two months," said Houllier.
"He's got into training and isn't showing the attitude of Michael Essien last year."
The Ghanaian transferred to Chelsea for 47 million dollars last year after a protracted stand-off between the two clubs.
Malian international Diarra has admitted that he "dreams of playing" for the Spanish side.
"Of course I want to play there," the player told the Spanish press. "If fate leads me that way I will follow."
Real sporting director Predrag Mijatovic is expected to visit the French champions this week to try to negotiate a deal reported to be worth more than 30 million dollars.
