FAR in good Confed Cup start
Confederation Cup trophy
FAR won the title after beating Nigeria's Dolphin FC in the final

Royal Armed Forces of Morocco made a successful start to the defence of their Confederation Cup title with a 2-0 win over NA Hussein-Dey of Algeria.

Striker Jawad Ouaddouch scored both goals in a four minute spell in the second half of the fourth round, first leg match in Rabat on Sunday.

Royal Armed Forces won the competition last year with victory over Nigeria's Dolphin FC in the two-legged final.

World Cup defender Delgado scored the only goal as Angola's Petro Atletico won 1-0 away in Dakar in the first leg of their tie against Port Autonome of Senegal.

The goal came just after halftime and after Petro, who had four members from Angola's World Cup squad in their starting line-up, had an earlier effort disallowed for offside.

Angola's other representatives in the competition, InterClube, drew 0-0 away at Madagascar's USCAFOOT in Antananarivo on Sunday.

Tunisia's Etoile Sahel, who were runners-up in the last two editions of the African Champions League, scored a 4-1 win over Tanzania's Moro United in their first leg tie in Sousse on Saturday.

Their Nigerian striker Emeka Opara scored a hat trick in the last half-hour of the match.

The return legs will be played on the weekend of July 28-30 and the winners advance to the group stage of the competition where the eight remaining sides are divided into two groups.
