Zidan is back in the Egypt squad after an eight-month absence
Egypt have recalled Germany-based striker Mohamed Zidan to their squad for next Wednesday's home friendly against Uruguay in Alexandria.
Coach Hassan Shehata has picked Zidan despite vowing never to pick the 25-year-old after his repeated failure to answer national call-ups.
The Werder Bremen forward was left out of Egypt's squad for this year's African Nations Cup finals, which the Pharaohs both hosted and won.
There is also a first call-up for Feyenoord goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy and a return for Greece-based defender Amir Azmi Megahed.
There is still no place in the team for Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam, with whom Shehata had a very public falling-out during the Pharaohs' victorious Nations Cup campaign.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Abou-Treika, Mohamed Barakat, Emad Al-Nahhas and Ahmed Al-Sayed all miss the game through injury.
Next week's match serves a warm-up for Egypt before the African champions begin their bid to qualify for the 2008 Nations Cup in Ghana.
Egypt will host Burundi in their first group match next month.
