Diouf is under police investigation
Senegal striker El Hadji Diouf is being investigated by Dakar police, following accusations that he assaulted a woman.

Aicha Ba was allegedly attacked by the former African Footballer of the Year in a nightclub on Monday.

Ba is said to have had a relationship with one of Diouf's international team-mates.

She accused the Bolton Wanderers forward of initiating "acts that were intended to humiliate" her.

Ba also claimed to have been examined by a doctor who advised her to "rest for 25 days to recover from the physical and mental trauma" of the incident.

A police spokesman in Dakar has confirmed to BBC Sport that they have commenced investigations into the allegations.

"A police commissioner is currently looking into the case," the spokesman said.

BBC Sport could not reach Diouf for comment.
