Tunisia's African Nations Cup hero Francileudo dos Santos is to quit his French club Sochaux after failing to agree on a new contract.
The Brazilian-born striker told the French press he was not satisfied with the offer to extend his contract at the Ligue 1 club by a further two years.
Santos, whose goals set up Tunisia for their first-ever Nations Cup triumph last year, has an existing contract at Sochaux until June 2006.
But he was not happy with the terms offered for a new deal that would have kept him at the club through to mid-2008.
Santos denied reports he wanted to leave the club because of their failure to qualify for European club competition next season.
Sochaux have played in the last two UEFA Cup competitions.
"I'm now looking at other options. I feel simply it is time for a change.
"I've been at the club for the last five years and need change of routing," he said.
Santos scored nine league goals for Sochaux this season as they finished in 10th place.
He has a total of 53 goals in Ligue 1 since joining Sochaux in October 2001.
