Gaddafi also resigned as head of the Libyan Football Federation

Mohamed El Khemisy has quit his post as coach of the Libyan national team.
El Khemisy, who guided Libya to two home victories against Benin and Egypt in
the 2006 World Cup qualifiers, made the announcement in the wake of their
recent 4-1 loss to Egypt in Cairo.
"I'm doing the normal thing after this result," said El Khemisy, who has been
criticised in the local media for the heavy defeat to their North African neighbours
El Khemisy took over, for his sixteenth spell as Libya boss, last August from
Croatian Ilija Loncarevic.
The defeat saw Libya slip from second to fourth in Group Three.
Before El Khemisy's resignation, Al Saadi Gaddafi resigned as president of the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) last week.
This led to the suspension of the Libyan league championship.
Libya, who need to finish in the top three to qualify for next year's African Cup of Nations in Egypt, will host the group leaders Ivory Coast in June.
