Togo game shelved
The Hawks of Togo
Togo make their debut at next year's World Cup
The friendly international between Togo and Iran scheduled for 12 November has been postponed.

Africa's World Cup debutants were due to play the Islamic Republic in the capital, Tehran.

No explanation has been given by either side for the decision to shelve the match.

The Hawks were also hoping to use the fixture to prepare for next year's African Nations Cup finals in Egypt.

Togo finished ahead of Senegal in Group One of 2006 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifying to emerge as surprise finalists for football's most prestigious event.

The Togolese are coached by former Nigerian captain Stephen Keshi.
