Kebede gets Ethiopia job
Outgoing coach Asrat Haile
Haile held the fort as interim manager

Ethiopia have named Seyoum Kebede as the new head coach of the national team.

Kebede was previously in charge of St George, the Addis Ababa-based club that has won the last two Ethiopian championships.

He replaces Asrat Haile, who served as interim coach following the sacking of German manager Jochen Figge in May.

Mekuria Ashebir, a former player and coach for DD Railway, has also been appointed Kebede's assistant.

One of the new management's first tasks will be to prepare Ethiopia for their 2006 Nations Cup and World Cup qualifier against Malawi.

Ethiopia, currently placed 132nd in the Fifa rankings, will play the first leg of the tie in Addis Ababa on 10 October.
