Gabon lose out
Equatorial Guinea 2-1 Gabon

Gabon
Gabon again have failed to live up to their promise
Equatorial Guinea are finally off the mark in Group 7 after beating Gabon 2-1 - a result that means Gabon are eliminated.

The Guineans were looking for revenge after having been trounced 4-0 in Libreville last time out.

And Jesus Mba got them off to a great start, notching in the 14th minute.

However, Gabon soon came back at them, and Msue Nguema equalised just over ten minutes later.

Gabon knew they needed a win to have any chance of still qualifying for Tunisia 2004, but were unable to create the goal they needed.

And on 80 minutes Andres Bumangongo ensured their elimination by scoring Equatorial Guinea's winner.

However, Equatorial Guinea's dreadful goal difference means they remain rooted to the bottom of the group.
