Seychelles 2-1 Zimbabwe

Some defensive heroics secured Seychelles' famous win
Seychelles secured a remarkable victory by beating Zimbabwe 2-1 in Group 6.

Alpha Balde and Philip Zialor were the heroes for the islanders, both scoring late as the match seemed to be heading for a 0-0 draw.

Zimbabwe dominated the first half and only some last-gasp defending kept Seychelles in the game.

Frustrated at their inability to get past the Seychelles defence, the Warriors were tempted into making silly mistakes.

With 15 minutes to go, Seychelles striker Alpha Balde was hauled down in the penalty area.

Balde stepped up to take the kick himself and made no mistake.

Seychelles' lead lasted only six minutes, as Zimbabwe's pressure finally paid off, with Adam Ndlovu finally putting the ball over the line, following a goalmouth scramble.

But having sensed victory once, Seychelleswere not keen to give up.

Philip Zialor's excellent free kick in the 86th minute sailed into the net and secured the islanders a memorable win.
