Guinea players ordered to barber's
Pascal Feindouno
Feindouno was one of those with 'odd' hair

Guinean players who have either dreadlocked or other 'odd' haircuts have been ordered to the barber's by the country's president Lansana Conte.

Conte has told them if they do not have their hair cut before Sunday they will be expelled from the team to play Liberia in their Nations Cup qualifier.

The news was told to the players at a reception at the Presidential lodge on Friday.

No 'odd' hair here, says Conte
Conte gave the example of Brazilian players, who he said have no dreadlock hair or 'odd' hair cut and are the best players in the world.

The Guinean players who have been forced to go for a short back and sides are captain Morlaye Soumah, Pascal Feindouno and Fodè Mansaré.

This is not the first time president Conte has sent the team for a snip.

In 1997, he passed the same order as nearly the entire squad had dreadlocks at the time.

All the players, with the exception of Abdoul Salam Sowe, responded positively to the presidential order.
