Former Swiss boss wants Senegal job
![]() Jeandupeux is former manager of French club Strasbourg
The former coach of Switzerland is interested in replacing Bruno Metsu as Senegal's head coach.
Daniel Jeandupeux, who coached his homeland from 1986-9, declared his candidature to the Senegalese press agency APS. "The Lions of Senegal interest me," Jeandupeux said. "I followed them in the Nations Cup organised in Mali and in the recent World Cup, and I know the players from the French league, so I believe I know them well enough to be able to direct them," he added.
Jeandupeux, a former Swiss international, has huge coaching experience, having been boss of FC Sion, FC Zurich (both Switzerland) and French clubs Toulouse, Strasbourg and Caen. Although he is not French, as the Senegalese Football Federation requires, his substantial experience in French club football makes him an attractive option for Senegal. |
