SA experiment again
Lucas Radebe receives medical attention after a leg injury
Radebe has not recovered from injury in time to play
South Africa's coach Jomo Sono has selected many inexperienced and uncapped players for the team's friendly with Ecuador on 17 April.

Six of the players selected have never appeared for the country.

Sono said he has a good idea of the players he would be selecting for the World Cup and sees the preceding friendlies as an opportunity to experiment.

He has revealed he will not actually be in charge of the team for the game, preferring to watch World Cup opponents Spain play Northern Ireland in Belfast.

Ttwo notable absentees from the squad are English-based defenders Lucas Radebe and Mark Fish.

Both have just recovered from injury and Sono hopes to have them back in the team to assess their suitability for the World Cup.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Andre Arendse (Santos), Emile Baron (Lillestrom, Norway)

Defenders: Edries Burton (Santos), Tony Coyle (Wits University), Hilton Jordaan (Jomo Cosmos), Siphiwe Mkhonza (Ria Stars), Thabang Molefe (Jomo Cosmos), Cyril Nzama (Kaizer Chiefs)

Midfielders: Josta Dladla (Wits University), Brett Evans (Ajax Cape Town), Stanton Fredericks, David Kannemeyer (both Kaizer Chiefs), Pitso Lekone (Free State Stars), Mbulelo Mabizela, Thabo Mngomeni (both Orlando Pirates), McDonald Mukansi (Chernomorets Bourgas, Bulgaria) Sipho Nunens (Mamelodi Sundowns), Steven Pienaar (Ajax Amsterdam, Netherlands), McBeth Sibaya (Jomo Cosmos), Lucky Sibeko (Lamontville Golden Arrows)

Strikers: Abram Raselemane (Supersport United), Glen Salmon (NAC Breda, Netherlands).
