Geremi Njitap grabbed a rare goal for Real Madrid on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to prevent defeat in the first leg of their Champion's League quarter-final with Bayern Munich.
Cameroon international Njitap scored after only 11 minutes for Real, who started the match as favourites for the competition.
As the ball fell to him on the edge of the area, he hit a sweet low drive that somehow got away from Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn and ended up in the bottom corner of the goal.
Kahn was very critical of his own role in Njitap's effort.
"Their goal was my mistake, usually I stop attempts like this with my cap," he said.
Bayern made little impact until the second half, winning a penalty on 72 minutes - which Steffen Effenberg contrived to miss.
But Bayern had scented blood, and two goals in the last 10 minutes - including one for Effenberg - secured their advantage for their return match at Real's Bernabau.
